20+ failed products in the past decade, MevinX is yet another in my wall of failures.

Those spikes on the screenshot are the days when I used MevinX, yet I have decided to shut it down. Here are the reasons.

• I built it for 3 months and only few users joined and they aren’t using the product either
• The value proposition is not very clear
• Hard to monetize
• Dependent on 3rd party, so I have to hack a lot, and that’s not legally good (everyone else does that, but I don’t want to)
• Lot of technical problems that needs to be solved on day 1 or else the product is not usable
• And 3 months of stealth is too late for a release, it hurts to proceed anymore with no benefits showing up on face

What I am planning to do now? - Put some minimal effort to convert it into something useful and make it open source - Thank everyone who participated - Get started with the next product with the learning from this shutdown - Build a product that’s less tech, but more of talking to users. - Get 10 users this week for my new product, friends and family is fine. - Launch a waitlist by end of the month
